Overview
CPL Partnership approached me to redesign their outdated single-page website, which relied on anchored menu items and offered limited flexibility for growth or SEO optimization. The challenge was to transform their online presence into a scalable, multi-page website that could better showcase their services and projects while improving discoverability and performance. Additionally, the client wanted a system they could easily maintain themselves without relying on ongoing developer support.
Through an analysis of their existing site and competitors in the engineering and construction industries, I found that many firms struggled with overly technical layouts and outdated designs. My focus was to streamline the user experience while highlighting CPL’s expertise and past projects in a clear, professional, and approachable way. SEO research also revealed that separating their content into dedicated pages for services, projects, and company information would significantly improve visibility and site ranking.
After finalizing the site structure through wireframes, I moved into the high-fidelity design phase to define the visual direction and user interface. I began by creating two distinct homepage design concepts in Adobe XD to explore variations in layout, visual hierarchy, and tone — one emphasizing strong imagery and the other focusing on concise content presentation. This allowed the client to visualize different approaches to highlighting their projects and services while ensuring the design aligned with their brand identity and professional image.
Once the preferred design direction was selected, I refined it through multiple rounds of feedback to achieve the right balance between modern simplicity and functional clarity. The finalized homepage design became the foundation for the rest of the site, which I expanded into a complete set of high-fidelity mockups covering all key pages, including Services, About, Contact, and dynamic templates for the Portfolio and Blog sections.
These templates were designed with scalability in mind — ensuring future content could be added seamlessly while maintaining visual consistency. Each mockup focused on clean typography, balanced whitespace, and a flexible grid system that would adapt fluidly across devices. The result was a detailed design blueprint that set the tone for development and ensured a polished, cohesive user experience.
I transitioned CPL Partnership from a single-page site to a multi-page WordPress website built for structure, performance, and long-term growth. To meet the client’s goal of managing content independently, I developed a custom CMS using Advanced Custom Fields (ACF) and created custom post types for projects. This allows CPL to upload new projects through the standard WordPress editor, which automatically populates into a custom Elementor template—making updates quick and seamless.
The site was designed with a clean, modern layout and optimized for fast loading times and full responsiveness across all devices. By focusing on usability, SEO, and maintainability, the result is a high-performing, professional website that reflects CPL Partnership’s credibility and makes it simple for their team to manage content as their portfolio grows.
