Overview
Patti & Anthes approached me to create a brand-new website that would reflect their expertise in engineering. They needed a site that not only showcased their projects and services effectively but also allowed their team to maintain and update content independently. Additionally, they wanted the website to perform at peak speed, be fully responsive across all devices, and include a careers section to support recruitment efforts.
Analyzing the firm’s goals and reviewing competitor sites in engineering and consulting, I found that many engineering websites were either too technical or difficult for teams to maintain without developer support. Streamlining the user experience while highlighting projects in a clear, professional manner became the priority. Research also indicated that integrating a custom CMS and leveraging Elementor templates would simplify content updates and improve workflow efficiency, while creating a dedicated careers page would strengthen the firm’s ability to attract qualified talent.
After defining the site structure and content strategy, I moved into high-fidelity design to establish the visual direction and user interface. I created multiple homepage concepts in Adobe XD—one emphasizing bold imagery to showcase projects, and another focusing on clear content blocks to guide users through services and company information. These variations helped the client visualize different approaches and provide feedback on layout, hierarchy, and tone.
Once a preferred design was chosen, I refined the homepage through iterative feedback, focusing on spacing, typography, and visual balance. The final design served as the foundation for all key pages, including Services, About, Projects, Contact, and Careers. Dynamic templates were also created for custom post types, ensuring that new projects could be added easily while maintaining consistent design and visual hierarchy.
Special attention was given to responsiveness and scalability. Flexible grids and modular content blocks were designed to adapt across desktop, tablet, and mobile devices, creating a polished experience for all users. The result was a cohesive set of high-fidelity mockups that provided a clear blueprint for development while supporting long-term growth and easy content management.
The website was built on WordPress with a custom CMS using Advanced Custom Fields (ACF), enabling the Patti & Anthes team to create and upload projects through the standard WordPress editor. Each project automatically populates a custom Elementor template, allowing for easy, consistent updates without needing technical expertise.
The site was optimized for peak performance and fully responsive design. A dedicated careers section was included to streamline hiring, featuring current openings and an easy-to-use application form. Overall, the site balances usability, maintainability, and professional presentation, providing a scalable platform that grows with the firm’s needs.
