Overview
The Sensory Space needed a brand identity and online presence that resonated with mothers seeking occupational therapy services for their children with sensory needs. The owner wanted the website to feel inviting, trustworthy, and easy to navigate, while also helping parents understand what sensory therapy is and how it can support their child’s development. The challenge was to design a brand and website that balanced professional credibility with emotional reassurance—speaking directly to parents’ concerns while reflecting the playful, sensory-rich nature of the services offered.
Through outreach in local parenting and mom groups on Facebook, I found that many parents were seeking occupational therapy services outside of their homes, as their children were often distracted during in-home sessions. Parents expressed the need for a dedicated, sensory-friendly environment where their children could focus and feel safe. These insights guided both the messaging and visual direction—showcasing The Sensory Space as a supportive place designed specifically for children’s success.

The challenge was to design a brand and website that balanced professional credibility with emotional reassurance—speaking directly to parents’ concerns while reflecting the playful, sensory-rich nature of the services offered.
During the wireframing phase, I guided the client on how to strategically organize content to create a clear, user-focused narrative. I advised structuring the homepage and service pages around three key messaging pillars: who The Sensory Space serves, what problem it solves, and how it provides solutions. This approach ensures that parents can quickly identify that they’re in the right place and understand how occupational therapy can support their child.
I also recommended including the founder’s credentials to establish trust and testimonials from parents as social proof, reinforcing credibility and reassurance. The wireframes prioritized clarity, flow, and emotional connection—laying the groundwork for a site that feels both informative and comforting to its audience.
The website was structured to clearly communicate what The Sensory Space is, the services offered, and how families can get started—ensuring that key information is easy to find and understand at a glance.
I designed and developed a custom Squarespace website that’s simple for the client to maintain while providing an intuitive experience for users. The site architecture prioritizes clarity, accessibility, and clear calls to action, guiding parents toward learning about services and booking consultations.
The final result is a cohesive, user-centered brand and website that communicate warmth, expertise, and trust—helping The Sensory Space connect authentically with families seeking care.
